Thanksgiving Traditions with Fisher Cousins

Every couple of years or so, the Fisher Family gathers in Park City for Thanksgiving. Here are a few of our favorite kid entertaining traditions.

TURKEY HANDPRINT T-SHIRTS -- Using fabric paint we painted each hand resembling a turkey -- the fingers are colorful feathers. The girl's t-shirts have a handprint from each of their girl cousins and the boy's tshirts get a handprint from each boy cousin. I like this tradition because we dont' get to see our Fisher cousins often. This way, these tshirts become my children's pajama tshirts and we easily can reminence and talk about all our far away cousins.

CUTTING WITH GREAT GRANDMA -- All the cousins LOVE spending time with Great Grandma. She would bring up old magazines, scissors and tape. She would spend hours entertaining the little cousins (they got to cut out pictures from the magazines and then tape the pictures to Great Grandma's door).

MAKE A TURKEY -- Oriental Trading has the cutest "make a turkey" sticker craft. All the Fisher Cousins love to make their turkey. One year we I wrote on each turkey what each cousin was THANKFUL for and they gave their turkey to their parents.

MAKE SNOWMAN T-SHIRT AND FLEECE BLANKETS -- This year we went with a SNOW theme from the t-shirts. And Aunt Theresa brought up fleece material and taugh each cousin how to make his/her own tied fleece blanket.

COLORING BOOKS -- I make a Thanksgiving coloring book/activity book for each of the cousins.
